The problem here is where do you stop. To what extent are Derren's
TV performances edited? To what extent does he use 'stooges'? This
we do not know and probably never will. Take the idea to an extreme
and you could say that Derren's shows are set-up from start to
finish.
This is not a dig at Dale but the solution to all Derrens effects
could be written off as clever editing or pre-show set-up etc
Having witnessed a fair bit of magic passed off as NLP etc in his
live shows I'm gonna watch the Dog Races again (if I've still go it
on video.)
To be honest I don't give a damn how he did it. Derren is firstly an
entertainer. What he does, that is, what the general public perceive
he does is absolutely fantastic. The knowledge and perception he
has, has earned him great respect. Not only that but he's given
magic and magicians a great popularity boost
