There was a guy on the Paul McKenna show once who did the same thing,
only he called his a "Psychic Punch" and claimed he was using his
mental energy to hit the subject (who was knocked back quite a
distance).
I think it's a very similiar thing to what religious
preachers/healers do at large shows, when they throw their hands in
the direction of the subject who then falls back onto the ground. In
fact, the entire crowd at such a gathering have been mildly
hypnotised en masse and so are very suggestible to the psychic energy
of the healer knocking them to the ground. There's a very simple
trick some healers do that means anyone can be hypnotised, even those
who actively resist being hypnotised.
