I'm currently self-employed, licencing adult videos,
but I'm getting out of it very soon because the
market conditions and restrictions attached to R18
videos don't favour people who aren't affiliated to a
particular store chain over here. David Sullivan owns about
70% of the licensed stores in the UK and so can
pretty much decide what he wants to pay, and of course,
you can't do mail order either (well, not legally,
although I know some people who are...I don't have quite
that much to spend on lawyers though!)
Its
been very kind to me financially in the short term,
but I know a losing battle when I see one....I might
still stay in video licensing, probably shifting onto
horror/cult, or perhaps pursue a full time career as a
hypnotherapist...I'm approaching a career crossroads at 26!!!
The 'casting' applies to the fact that I do sometimes
act as a casting consultant to some UK producers, as
well as negotiate their foreign rights sales to the US
and Europe. I use a yahoo! address instead of my .com
one because once you put your address on certain
boards, you're just gonna get bombarded with
spam!
