Wood, Charles (b Armagh, 15 June, 1866 - d Cambridge, 12 July, 1926)
Wood was a pupil of Stanford at the Royal College of Music (1883-7), where he taught from 1888. From 1897 he also taught at Cambridge, where he was made a professor in 1924. His output includes choral and theatre music, but he is primarily remembered for his church music, organ preludes, anthems, and morning, and evening services.
