Dyson, Sir George (b Halifax, 28 May, 1883 - d Winchester, 28 September, 1964)
Dyson studied at the Royal College of Music (1900-4), and later taught there (he was their director from 1938), and at several schools. His works include choral and orchestral pieces (notably The Canterbury Pilgrim (1931), and books (including one volume on hand grenade warfare!)
