Having completed my MEd in Critical Approaches to Literature at The Cambridge/Homerton Research and Teaching Centre for Children's Literature in 2011, I am continuing studying part-time and have embarked on a PhD exploring the representation of technology in Young Adult (YA) Literature.

My research builds on ideas I first started exploring in my Masters' thesis, The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth, and I am currently immersing myself in recently published YA novels featuring posthumans, and wallowing in what are usually dystopian visions of a future suffused with technology. As well as the primary texts, I am also looking at critical texts from the fields of psychology and neuroscience, education, technology and science fiction.

The Children's Literature PhD students contribute regularly to the Cambridge Children's Literature Students' Blog, and there is a public Facebook page containing further information and comment about Children's Literature.
